MilenialPos.com – Google melalui lembaga filantropis Google.org mengumumkan hibah 800.000 dolar AS atau sekitar Rp11,7 miliar untuk mendukung beragam program literasi media dan juga pelatihan digital dalam upaya memberantas hoaks dan misinformasi masyarakat Indonesia.
Hibah tersebut dieksekusi oleh Masyarakat Anti Fitnah Indonesia (Mafindo) dan lembaga nirlaba Maarif Institute, bersama agensi perubahan sosial Love Frenkie, lewat program Tular Nalar.
“Tahun ini dengan bangga kami mengumumkan hibah keempat Mafindo dan Maarif Institute sebesar 800.000 USD untuk memberikan solusi dan membantu lebih dari 26.700 dosen dan guru serta mahasiswa untuk memiliki ketahanan terhadap misinformasi dan disinformasi melalui edukasi literasi media dan digital,” kata Head of Public Affairs Southeast Asia Google APAC, Ryan Rahardjo, dalam diskusi virtual, Senin (26/10/2020).
Ryan mengatakan memerangi kesalahan informasi, ujaran kebencian, intoleransi, informasi yang direkayasa dan hoaks terus menjadi tantangan penting untuk ditangani terutama mendekati pemilihan kepala daerah atau Pilkada yang akan diselenggarakan secara serentak pada Desember.
Program Tular Nalar yang dibentuk oleh Google.org dan juga dieksekusi oleh Maarif Institute, Mafindo, dan Love Frenkie, Ryan menjelaskan, berfokus kepada materi pembelajaran untuk mengasah cara berfikir secara kritis.
“Ini juga dibentuk untuk para dosen, guru dan mahasiswa dalam menghadapi tantangan yang mereka hadapi di lingkungan pembelajaran,” ujar Ryan.
Google juga membentuk sebuah situs Tular Nalar, lanjut Ryan, yang akan bisa diakses pada Januari 2021 mendatang, terutama untuk para masyarakat yang tidak dapat berpartisipasi dalam pelatihan virtual.
“Kami harap melalui program ini para pengajar mendapatkan materi ajar tambahan dan juga dukungan yang mereka butuhkan untuk terus menularkan hal hal positif kepada para pelajar di Indonesia,” ujar Ryan.
“Dalam hal ini cara mengatasi misinformasi dan disinforamsi agar seluruh pelajar dan masyarakat Indonesia pada umumnya dapat menjadi warga digital yang bertanggung jawab,” dia menambahkan.
Menteri Koordinator Bidang Pembangunan Manusia dan Kebudayaan RI, Muhadjir Effendy, mengatakan memerangi kesalahan informasi, ujaran kebencian, intoleransi, informasi yang direkayasa dan juga hoaks terus menjadi tantangan penting untuk ditangani, terutama ketika kita semakin mendekati masa pemilihan kepala daerah yang akan diselenggarakan serentak pada Desember 2020.
Pemerintah Indonesia menyambut baik hibah keempat yang diberikan Google.org tersebut untuk mendukung berbagai informasi lokal, baik itu pemeriksa fakta, komunitas literasi digital dan lembaga sosial masyarakat yang memiliki visi yang sama, yaitu untuk memerangi misinformasi melalui program bernama Tular Nalar.
Program yang dikelola oleh Maarif Institute, Mafindo, dan Love Frankie akan bekerjasama dengan Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan, Kementerian Agama, Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika, pimpinan pusat Muhammadiyah dan Aspikom.
